Battlefield 4, and Call of Duty: Ghosts “pre-order” sales, better than amazon, or steam! These are near black friday – like sales. (PC only)
The trick to landing a great deal on PC games, is to grab the pre-order specials on “game cd key sites”. They occasionally will offer great deals on games, just like everyone else. But as for pre-order specials there really is no competition. Often many of these companies are trying to get their name out there, and nearly all of them will push their sales as far as they can on the brand new blockbuster titles. These “pre-order” sales are a driving force for them to acquire new customers, and future sales as their reputations become more known.
Now you are probably wondering if they are legit, or safe and the answer is absolutely yes! But you do need to have some caution.
You must make sure that on the game page you are looking at, it states what kind of cd key and/or region. You want to see US/NA, EU, Worldwide, Region Free. If you see RU, DE, POL, etc. then proceed with caution. The Russian keys will still work on Origin, but may or may not work on Steam. Also if you use Russian keys on steam you risk getting the account banned. And on Origin the only downfall is that you will have to download language files, and modify your install of the game manually. In my opinion the Russian keys are not worth it, don’t bother!
When you purchase a cd key version of a game make sure that you are getting the “version” you desire. There will be the basic keys, that have no pre-order bonus or extra content. And then there will be the pre-order special versions, and deluxe, etc. Just because you are buying a pre-order cd key of the game does not mean you are getting the same packaged bonuses that local stores offer.
It cannot hurt to do a quick google search and make sure that your specific game has not been mentioned to be having “region lock” issues. As of now Origin is doing great, they have no region locks outside of Russian territories. But with Steam, it is a toss up as they may or may not region lock their “client”, or the game can be locked by the publisher. What this means is that you will either be stuck to play with persons outside of your countries region. And will experience lag, and weirdo’s saying weird things you don’t understand. Or the game may not work at all if you don’t have a VPN from that region. So always do your homework!, and when you check out be sure to leave a note in your cart stating please notify me immediately, or cancel my order “with an explanation” if this cd key purchase is not compatible with my region. *They always respond if there will be any issues. (from my experience) There is often live chat also, to further resolve concerns.
I have been doing this for 5 years now, and have had no issues. Probably my best deal was a NA region free key of Borderlands 2 for $28.98 (Pre-order, day one release)
*Final tip, check out with paypal! Or a payment provider native to your country.
As of 10/26/13 the below mentioned offers are the best deals I have been able to find for these games.
Head over to Fast2Play and check out their great deals on upcoming PC games.
Or head over to: OnlineKeyStore and check out their low prices for Battlefiled 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts.
Their current prices are: Call of Duty Ghosts @ $51.35, Battlefield 4 @ $48.68!
UPDATE: (Origin games only)
I read that you can get the game cheaper from a “mexico” ip address. I already tried doing this from a singapore address with no luck. But flyvpn free option, selecting “americas” and then choosing the mexico vpn I had luck after loading Origin’s website from incognito mode in google chrome. The standard version of BF4 comes up at $499.00 which from pesos to dollars comes out to be 38.42 USD. Despite the fact that many have tried this, and their successes makes me want to feel like it is safe practice for the time being, but would it be worth the risk? This also makes me question how are some of these “cd key sites” obtaining their codes!? My last purchases from buygamecdkeys.com e-mailed a copy of the game cut out, and other sites state that they actually receive the physical container. My guess is not all do things equal, and if there are no risks jumping over to a Mexico ip then why not?
I also tried this from the Origin client, then *disconnect server for security reasons while checking out with paypal. It is $499.00 on the site, which is alarming but at checkout converts from MXN to USD for grand total of $42.49 after impuestos! /cancel. I would have bought it but I already have a pre-order of BF4 on the PS4.
